When Christmas lights glow
Then also does my heart
Warmed by cheer effusing
In a winter sky of dark
They stand against the starry sky
And twinkle through the night
Heralding the season
With rays of candlelight
And it matters not the color
Whether red or green or blue
White of sparkling crystal
Or of golden-amber hue
I cannot help but smile
Each time I see them glow
They remind me of childhood Christmases
So many years ago
For Christmas is for children
And though I am full grown
These simple strands of light and joy
Always bring the holidays home
